Happy 4th!

Celebrated the 4th of July ("Independence Day" in the US) in three parts:
- a parade in my own new neighborhood; how nice is it just to stroll out to your front porch with a cup of coffee to watch? (very nice is the answer). These gents (from the DC police dept) are from the parade.

- an afternoon with friends and great conversation topped with barbecued shish-kabobs and a nice red wine.

- fireworks in downtown DC. Nice show, though I remember it much "bigger" back in the days when we took the kids to see it. Maybe it's perspective? :) Loads of pix from that event, though none that I thought was particularly noteworthy.
