Kittiwakes and whales
Another glassy day. All sorts of birds - gulls, gannets, goosanders and guillemots - screeching away in big wheeling clouds over what are presumably mackerel pushing fry up to the surface.
Taking a bit of a calmer approach were a number of young kittiwakes, riding along on the bow and happy to pose for photos.
The bird activity built up towards sunset and then I looked over the computer screen and up popped a minke whale. Slowly working its way around the ship in a big circle but never close enough for a really decent photo.
A few more pics in the extras right >>>
