3416. Dreich….

A bit dreich this morning for my walk to the chiropractor…..but I did bump into a couple I hadn’t seen in ages after he had been diagnosed with cancer.  He has been told he is clear at the moment and is hoping to get back to work after the summer.  The mental toll on him and his family has been terrible but it was good to see him looking well and talking about getting back some of his former life.  My dearest friend (who has joined me on a number of Blips over the years) was diagnosed a few weeks ago and has had a pretty challenging journey to this point and she won’t be getting her surgery any time soon.  She hasn’t had the best care from the NHS so far which is awful and the problem appears to be that each consultant operates in their own little bubble, so having seen two different consultants she has been given very conflicting information, not only about the diagnosis but the treatment too.  She has also had her surgery delayed because one consultant didn’t think that it was worthwhile doing the genetic link testing despite both her and her Mom having the same condition at the same age, this has delayed her surgery by a further 3 weeks.  I am hoping for a good outcome for her…….
