These were not particularly expensive, were acquired in a sale and were half a size smaller than would have been ideal (though have expanded slightly over the decades) so their probably-unrecoverable state upon there return from scout camp is neither unexpected, nor calamitous. I'll see what glues I have and if they're prepared to accept it but I wouldn't trust them for anything more strenuous or distant than the garden hereafter.
