"No Entry"

I've long been drawn to the dark side of the tracks, to fleetingly visit, rather than to remain there, of course.

Photographing inner cities, such as in Cardiff and Bristol, my wideangle lenses have in the past eeked out conflicting juxtapositions; angles that harmoniously jar. The ugly nestling with the beautiful.

Salisbury, however, isn't really one of those places where too much of this sort of thing goes on, mind you. But urban landscape is a subject that holds great appeal for me - in either bright contrasty sunlight or at night, as here.

Beyond the concrete wall ahead are the railway sidings and tracks of Salisbury station and a new terminus for repairs etc. The terrace of houses, of which this on the left is the end one, must have seen every development in trains since their inception. Such history they could tell...

You may not like the two flare blobs next to the streetlamp. I think they add extra interest to the sky and cloning them out successfully would have taken time and some effort.

Yes, I know that I should be out in the glorious sunshine, galavanting with nature and showing you all pretty landscapes, but, hey, such a scene as this is equally valid, after all. And possibly more unusual.
