The last gardenia...

Such a wistful moment, picking the last gardenia. It is the very last one on a large bush, the only other one still on the bush or yellow and drying out and about to fall off. I gently picked this one after photographing it and brought it in and it is floating in a little crystal bowl next to me here. This one blossom perfumes the whole room. Oh, I shall really miss the gardenias until they come back next year, but there is so much in the garden now to celebrate. I will just cherish this one last blossom floating in the crystal bowl while it lasts...
