UK/USA BLIPMEET

Exciting day today - a blipmeet  with some local blippers and two from America.

I was up early - 6am - as public transport is pretty poor on a Sunday morning and I had to catch a bus at 7.30pm to get to Tynemouth where I was meeting Chris and her husband  Roy who were giving me a lift to the blipmeet locatiion.  Had a bit of a panic as the 7.30am bus wasn't showing up on the bus app.  However it did appear later... and the bus actually came on time.  It took 1 hr 15 mins to get to Tynemouth.

Chris met me at the bus stop.  Then Roy, Chris ( 60plus ) and I drove to Pats ( Shygirl73 ) house to collect her and then we headed for Hauxley Wildlife Centre in Northumberland.  We met up with local blippers David ( davidc ) and his wife, and Carol ( carol_dunham ) as well as Peggy ( KangaZu ) and Richard who had come from Pennsylvania and are staying in the area.  Today is their 40th wedding anniversary. It was great to share the day with them.

We had refreshments  in the cafe and then had a wander around the lake.  Fortunately the weather was dry and quite warm. We chatted to each other as we walked.  Then it was back to the cafe where we sat outside this time.  Toasted sandwiches seemed to be popular with the blippers today.

Then it was time to go our separate ways.  I had a wonderful time.  I had already met Peggy and Richard when I was in America visiting our mutual blipfriend  justbe  and it was great to see them again today. We had a Royal Day ( as my Grandad used to say )

My main blip shot is of Peggy and Richard and the painted stone I got from Peggy. Its lovely isn't it.  She had painted them specially for her blip friends. I've added two Extras.  A group shot -  left to right Roy, Richard, Peggy,  Carol, Chris,  Pat,  David and Davids wife aka " The Editor ".  There's also a collage of views of the lake and a photo of Peggy with one of the lovely horses we spotted in a field.  Check out the blips from the others as there are some different photos.

After dropping Pat off at home Chris and Roy kindly gave me a lift right to my front door before carrying on with their journey South.

As I had predicted as soon as I sat down in my armchair I nodded off to sleep.

Steps today - 8,290
