This morning we set of to walk to Hengistbury Head, along the seashore. I took off my shoes and socks for a quick paddle. It was a bit chilly. Again, it didn’t rain, and there were more dogs to admire. We stopped for a cuppa at The Hiker cafe, where instead of seagulls, there were very tame starlings, that would happily sit on our table and our coats etc.
sadly the little ferry wasn’t working, so we walked back towards Christchurch, stopping at a little place for lunch, where we were ignored by the staff, , and it wasn’t that busy, so we left and found a really good bakery that Rosie had read about. So it was focaccia and garlic and herb cheese, sat by a little marina. Oh and a caramel doughnut that we shared.
We walked on into Christchurch, and saw various old buildings.
We needed another cuppa stop, and feeling a bit weary , we caught the bus back towards our little place.
We had chips on the pier for supper, and kept them in a tote bag, so the seagulls didn’t attack us.
Back up the hill for a rest, we did about 35,000 steps, and I got a blister, but it was well worth it. A fab day.
