Not a pretty sight
But a great privilege to see a GREAT GREY OWL chick just hatched. This chick's parents are from North America and this one has literally just emerged from the egg. Of course I am not in North America but visiting one of my many interesting clients who have branched out from dairy farming and who have very interesting hobbies such as all things Parrots and Owls and wildlife in general and also Carriage Horses for weddings and any occasions. I got some lovely shots of the chick's parents but thought I would share this one with you. One of the parents here (The parents appear to be pigs but just scroll through and you will find Mum or Dad!) and then there's Zak too here. (there are those dratted pigs again - just scroll through "animals and birds" and you'll find him!!) Zak flies free and is very tame - he adores my clients' grandchildren and is a joy to watch as he swoops low to annoy Buster, the terrier, and interfere with all the visitors - me for one!!
