Went to the launch of The Great Dodo Exhibition at Kendal Museum this evening.

Billed as 'the largest gathering of Dodos since they became extinct' there were dodos in every shape or form. Stuffed dodos created by Carl Church, taxidermist - dodo skeletons made by Luke Williams from casts of genuine bones from three separate dodos, bronze dodos and much more.

Professor Carl G Jones MBE gave a talk about the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation which is doing its best to make sure that more birds and animals in Mauritius don't go the way of the dodo. We drank champagne, ate canapés - and took part in the Big Dodo Auction.

The exhibition runs until the end of October 2013 - if you're anywhere near Kendal, it's well worth a look ....................
