Such a happy day
It’s been a long but very happy day.
The bride looked radiantly happy and she and her husband both looked as though they were loving every minute of their special day. Yours truly couldn’t hold back the tears as they made their vows, which set off the bride’s mother too.
It was a joy to see all the couple’s friends celebrating with them so wholeheartedly, and our three granddaughters did us proud and behaved impeccably.
I’m using this quick phone shot of the top table as my blip. The reception was held in a hayloft over a Lakeland barn which is now a pub. Smithers and I were sitting in seats with a glorious view of the fells through the window, which was an extra special bonus.
There were four other tables out of shot. To the left of our table is a smaller table displaying photos of three special people – one of the bride’s sisters, who suffered from cerebral palsy and sadly died ten years ago, the bride’s grandmother who was too ill to make the trip, and the groom’s grandmother (my late mother). It was such a lovely touch, and so typical of our daughter-in-law to include them.
All in all, a wonderful day, but now Smithers and I can’t wait to slide into bed.
