May The Fourth

Be with You! • No worries if you’re not a Star Wars fan. It’s an annual stand-in for the well known line: May the force be with you • After spending a couple of hours cleaning out the creeping phlox and perennial beds I sat down with my camera hoping something interesting would appear. All daylong the air was saturated with birdsong. Definitely goldfinches and chickadees, titmice, a red-bellied woodpecker, and a few others I can’t identify • Stumpy stopped by, as did this new chipmunk! Stumpy was not pleased by his presence and chased him off several times, but the new guy persisted and kept his distance. It wasn’t long before they were within a couple of feet of one another • I’ve named this one Foxy. Sadly I have not seen Freckles for a few weeks • Happy Saturday, Folks! Enjoy the rest of your weekend • Oh! I saw my first catbird early this morning!! Next, a hummingbird :)
