The Pentland Way [Part 1]

Despite spending a lot of time in the Pentland Hills, we've never actually walked the whole of The Pentland Way; a long-distance footpath that stretches from Dunsyre (in the West) through to Swanston (in the East) ...

... so; we've duly split it into two sections, and today we tackled Part 1 :-)

We thus met a friend in Dunsyre, earlier this morning, and all set off on the way-marked path over to Carlops.

The main snap shows 'M' striding along the early sections of the route - obviously, carefully avoiding pheasants! ; 1st extra shows a footbridge over the Medwin Water, a few miles into the route; 2nd extra shows one of the many way-marker posts, which are prevalent along the whole length of the route.

Was a thoroughly enjoyable 13km, or so, of walking; and the weather held fine for us, throughout the whole day.

Part 2, from Carlops to Swanston, is now scheduled to be completed on Saturday 22nd June :-)
