Everything's coming up roses....

So, on Thursday night I had a convo with my work bestie.

"I think I will work from home tomorrow">

"no no you mustn't.  I have apresent for you, but that is all. I told everyone you don't do birthdays, so we aren't doing birthday.

Friday was fine. there was no birthday.

I walked in to the office this morning, first day after holiday, and on my desk a box card, a tiara, and a banner.

I squealed" What part of I DONT DO NUMBERS DONT THEY UNDERSTAND"

I saw two people run from the vicinity.

I sat down and sniggered.  The crown, dispite it's awful number on it, was very pretty,  and the card was quite amazing.  The Banners I could ignore and the "Birthday Queen" sash, I could get on with.

I spotted pressie bags on the floor and I was delighted to see they hadn't gone overboard.   Doritoa, and Chocolate !  Cool.

Work Bestie came in with Greggs Breakfast and sniggered helplessly.

Then they came over, and sung to me, made me opened the parcels in front of them.  Jack Daniels underneath, and an  engraved glass, a card for my favourite restaurant, and an envelope  with TOO much in it.

Then I sat for 10 minutes and tried to compose myself and get on with work.

and then the "cake" came.  I had pleaded with L not to bake.     The effort is appreciated, but L just cannot cook.  The last time, the ice tried to get away from the cake.   it was literally running off the cake, and the plate.

L had "gone for coffee" and thirty minutes later I had been contemplating tackling her lack of time management when they walked through the door with a pile of donuts, topped with a firework!!

Everyone dosed with donuts, I was satisfied it was over and I could get on with normality.

Twenty minutes later, someone was knocking the door.  (We always have this problem, despite it being swing, glass doors on the office no one can work out how to open them).   M ran up to get them, and I spotted over the top of the fuzzyglass of my window - a sunflower head...

A lady came in with the BIGGEST bunch of flowers i have seen.  Peonies, gerbera, sunflowers, roses.  aw. it was beautiful.

Another bottle from someone else, and a gorgeous voucher for the shop from whence the flowers came... and I was done

That was the end of the suprises.

I'm kinda getting into the  birthday mood.  I even wore the crown.

I'm getting there with it.

AND Even more exciting..... My Magnolia bloomed this morning
