Everyday Life

On My Lap

Today was the day for tracking down a sofa bed. We looked in every shop in town that may sell them apart from the two that we were in no doubt would be way beyond our budget.

It gradually dawned on Brian that those that were within his budget ballpark were very flimsy and likely to be uncomfortable and the ballpark would have to relocate! At that point we decided to go home and have some lunch before making a decision. As you do, we settled for one seen in the first shop we'd visited. (Extra, though it won't be this colour because cat-hair!)

Home then to watch Hull KR, who handed Wigan their backsides last week take on Saint Helens. Saints were more on form than we had been, and KR beat them by an even bigger score than they beat us! They seem to be the Real Deal! Plus the atmosphere at their home ground is loud, partisan and quite hostile. I'm glad the cup game will be in a neutral venue.

More rugby league now, then a couple of G&Ts to look forward to later.

Tomorrow we'll go to see Jeri and gang. Grace will be there too, and she will spend the night here and travel back to Leeds on Monday.
