Abandoned?
Another damp, cold and dreary day. The new pond has a puddle of water in the bottom - hoping this means it is watertight.
I made a couple of phone calls in the morning. Chased up the repairs on our car - parts ordered but could take a month or more to arrive. And I rang the optician to order contact lenses. We were somewhat annoyed to discover that the optician has closed their New Ross branch and transferred all business to Waterford. We had specifically chosen this optician because they are a small, local business with a shop in New Ross. We now have to travel 30km, rather than just 10km, to see them/pick up the lenses. There's another optician in New Ross - we may transfer our business to them when we next need a check up!
After lunch, we went in to New Ross to order a replacement basin unit for our en suite (the reason for this is potentially whole other blip). I was fascinated to find these shoes in the flower bed beside the showroom, in a business park on the outskirts of the town. They've clearly only been there a few days, unlike the sock beside them (closer view in extras). I wonder about the back story!
We also popped in to Tesco for a few bits that we can't buy at the cheaper supermarkets we normally frequent these days.
And in the evening we sat in the lounge with the electric fire to warm us. When will it warm up?
