Single display
I hadn't realised that Winsford was staying a couple of nights in Edinburgh with Ridgeback13 this week, so it was a lovely surprise when she called in for coffee this morning (bearing gifts of a bag of Celebrations and a bar of Malteser chocolate - yum!) She also accompanied me to the Bethany shop to donate the big heap of Mummy hazelh's no-longer-suitable-but-in-good-condition summer clothes from yesterday afternoon's sorting exercise, and then came back to the house with me for lunch and more coffee.
The charity shop visit was successful on two other counts. In the Bethany shop I found a baby version of the Strathearn paperweight that I bought in Devon in summer 2019, and a pair of black linen M&S trousers in Mummy hazelh's size in the British Red Cross shop (as hoped for yesterday). My not-so-little sister taught me a new initialisation today when I told her about the pristine condition of the trousers: 'NWT' for 'new with tags'. I blipped this display of singles in one of the charity shops.
After lunch, I made a start on taking up the trousers, hemming one of Mummy hazelh's summer dresses, and mending another. After this, Mr hazelh and I walked over to Dundas Street to peek at a couple of exhibitions, including that of nadinepierce's friend Marianne Hazelwood. Then it was home again to deal with online admin/work, making supper, looking after Mummy hazelh, and watching a little television before bed.
My neck is still hurting, but I have been managing well on far fewer drugs. I have ditched the co-codamol and survived the day on just two doses of paracetamol, one at 07:00 and the other at 18:00.
Exercise today: walking (11,640 steps).
