Castro Yecla la Vieja
An afterthought day out while trying to find an open supermarket.
Built by the Vettones, sometime before the Romans turned up in Spain.
It was much more impressive and mysterious than the expected 'series of small walls'. The deep sheltered valley on the south side was full of twisted old oaks, a rushing stream, banks of flowers filled with butterflies and strange stone carvings. A shower of rain filtering through the sunlit trees and it felt very much like being back in Cornwall.
