In, and out my mind goes, in and out it goes....

I am completely thrown by the days.  I wasn't sure that yesterday was Friday, but apparently it was.

When we got home from work I had to pack, look out my documents, remember what we planned to do.

We had the usual sleep before a travel day.   In bed at 9.30 and awake at 2, 3, and 4,  Before the alarm rining at 5.    Up, Showered and in the Car by 6, and sitting in Wetherspoons by 8.    No Alcohol involved. I don't do alcohol at that time in the morning.   But 2 coffees and a bacon bab are ace.

On to the flight.  I let himself have the window seat, cause you do, don't  you for the people you love.   I had a perfectly lovely lady sitting on the other side of me.

When we arrived, straight through customs and out into the airport.   Wow, I love Duolingo.  Now I know why they kept teaching me "der zug auf gleis drei fallt Aus".   The train  on Platform 3 was indeed cancelled. however, we knew where we were going, we had a Welcome to Berlin card so we were able to look for the name of the station and head for another platform.

Our kids would be so proud.

Once we arrived  - the  station was massive, five floors I think we just headed straightout side and grabbed a taxi.   If we had known then, what we learned two hours later, we would have just jumped a tram.  But hey, we are on holiday.

Hotel  was perfectly lovely, but we weren't there to sit, we were there to see.

out the door... onto the tram, literally 200 yards from the door.  Four stops down and we were at Hackesher Markt.    Wow.  Full of noise and smells and stalls and people.   We wandered round and examined things (espcially moleskine shop), and then settled on a restaurant, locals seemed to be gravitating towards.

OOh it was lovely, sitting where there were so many accents, no one, or very few people were speaking English.   It was lovely.

After a long, slow dinner, and muchos people watching, we took our weary legs and headed back to the hotel.    How easy this travel is in Berlin.     No One asks for a ticket, everyone does it on faith.  If you are caught without a ticket.... a fine,  More than one fine... a criminal conviction.

Drink in the bar at the hotel.   Upstairs to bed, and zonked.

I was exhausted.
