Train Challenge No 8

Walking on water - Knightstone Island, Weston Super Mare

Despite the disappointing weather (an overcast chilly 12 degrees, and a few spots of rain), had a lovely three hours exploring a side of Weston Super Mare that I’d not seen before. 

Followed the sea front path all the way to the ruins of Birnbeck Pier, before returning to Knightstone Island for lunch with a view across to Weston Pier. Our walk coincided with high tide, I don’t think I’ve ever seen the pier surrounded with water before. And of course a trip to the seaside wouldn’t be complete without a 99 ice cream!

Lots of extras as I couldn’t decide which I liked best:
1) Knightstone Island
2) Under the pier
3) Looking across the causeway to Brean Down
4 & 5) Weston Pier
6) The coastal path to Birnbeck Pier
7) Blipper with a 99 ice cream!

Train journey time = 1h 12mins
Waiting between trains time = 59mins
Total journey time = 2h 11mins
