Pelican

A showery day today, then later it cleared for long enough for me to hobble up to Sydney Park in search of a nature scene. I must have gone in the birds' afternoon nap time as they all looked like they had no head. That includes this pelican. I stood and watched for some time and wasn't even sure what I was looking at. Then ever so briefly it woke up and showed its beak and eye and I got my photo, after which it went back to sleep. So I left with the idea of coming back a bit later but all the birds were still kipping.
