Gaa Ower Scallowaa
A lovely sunny day, hazy at times, low cloud on the hills in places, misty this evening. Windy all day.
Up early, another late shift in the airport. I've had a day meeting and boarding flights, all on time. A couple of small jets in today, one from Trondheim. Walkies with Sammy, now feet up for the night.
As I headed out the door this morning, I spotted a gaa (sundog) overhead. They used to say a gaa was a sign of bad weather to come. After waiting all day for it to turn, it didn't seem like it was going to be true. Unfortunately late this evening, the sea haar rolled in, hopefully this will be the bad weather. When speaking with the pilots on the last ABZ, they warned me about the sea haar, as they were watching it from above, they were correct. The gaa over my neighbour's house, Houl Road, Scalloway.
