No vehicles allowed?

Even when this pond in a small park in the village is not flooding the path this is a weird sign to put on the edges of a pond next to a footpath. Only in Belgium?

Had a bit of a frustrating afternoon, I had gathered courage and decided to drive over to a neighbouring village to visit the Zonienwoud museum, but road signing over here is a real pain.
Almost there a highway had to be passed.The only way to go to the road with a sign saying for the museum turn right also had a prominent Don't turn right sign, which meant I ended up on the highroad instead, then had to drive on for the next exit, turn and get back. For a hesitant driver like me this is pure agony. So I ended up in the local park instead where there was this other example of strange road signing.
