Bigland Barrow

I've mentioned Bigland Barrow before because the Ordnance Survey map is totally wrong showing footpaths that do not, and seem never to have, existed.  Here we are wandering across the Barrow. C is studying the map , She's brought a 1:10,000 orienteering map with her because someone in the past has gone out and mapped what paths exist on the ground. We are between paths here.
I wondered why it is called "Barrow"- is it an ancient burial place?  No,  apparently  "Barrow" is Anglo Saxon for hill or long ridge
