July 2013 #4
There are a lot of radios in our Manchester home, and (for better or for worse) the collection is becoming increasingly digital. One consequence of this is as we walk from room to room they and the various laptops, tablets and smartphones that happen to be on are very rarely in sync. Maybe we should have one receiver and lots of speakers.
Anyway, most radios are likely to be tuned to BBC's Radio 4 - unless the Archers or something else equally unpalatable is on. Then we generally flip to FM Classic or the BBC World Service.
I have grown up with Radio 4 and find it hard to imagine life without it. I even listen to Radio 4 in Argentina, where the 4-5 hour difference has more than once got me out of bed at three o'clock in the morning, convinced it's time to get up.
So for July number blip #4, the BBC, shot on our kitchen digital radio - with thanks for so many years' wonderful listening.
