Optohedron

This is one of the sculptural benches dotted along the Surrey Hills. It lies along the North Downs Way just east of Newlands Corner viewpoint near Guildford and was created by Will Nash who said of the piece: 

“The Optohedron sculpture is inspired by the act of viewing, thinking about seeing as the fundamental interface between the person and the world. Whilst exploring this idea, I investigated optics, the science of light, which took me to an ancient instrument, the Kaleidoscope.”


With the sun finally making an appearance, it also inspired me to create the high contrast image for today's Mono Monday challenge set by JohnEdward.
