Restored
Drove home today, stopping off at Clumber Park again for a break and a walk. The trees seemed to have advanced further (though it's only a few days since we last visited, on the way up to the Peak District!) and were displaying a lovely mix of greens and reds with the new foliage. We walked as far as the bridge over the lake and had a quick look at the walled garden on the way back - quick because it was about to shut!
The Blip shows some of the stonework on the restored bridge - the eighteenth century bridge was deliberately wrecked by vandals in a car in 2018 . Some of the stonework was recovered from the lake and repaired and reused but the rest had to be sourced from local quarries - a large-scale and detailed restoration project!
