The Gloup
A cold, showery, warm, sunny day, and I was out in all four. At least there wasn't much wind, which was very fortunate for the purposes of ash-pouring.
A walk in the morning, and another walk in the afternoon with a friend at Sarclet, where we'd gone to deposit some of DH's ashes. A mixed day, with the fun of being with a friend mixed with a sense of finality, of no return.
We walked south to the gloup, then a bit further. We sank our way down the slope on the soft grass until I found a spot for some of the ashes, then clambered back up to return to the harbour. The rest of the container was decanted there, then bedded in with some seawater.
Afterwards, a quick coffee and cake at a cafe, where we clinked our coffee mugs to our departed DHs.
