Spring Clean Out

My urge to purge continues....

Today was spent weeding out more clothing and  - dare I say it - I even ventured into my yarn closet. No matter how hard I try, I find it nigh impossible to toss out yarn; one just never knows when one might need that particular ball or that colour or that texture for some creative knitting pursuit...

Yarn does not shrink in storage (like clothing) and it does not go out of style, so there is never a convincing reason to weed it out.... Oh, except for space? An entire closet taken up with yarn? That should be a nudge to purge..or perhaps the realization that one could not possibly use it all in a lifetime of knitting? 

It was time... hard to rationalize having such a ridiculously huge collection that was serving no purpose; so I forced myself to pull out a few skeins (start small, think big) to see if the world would end; it did not..so off those skeins went, along with the clothing boxes to the Salvation Army Thrift Store today...I do hope they will get a good home..

 And back home in the closet? Their loss did not even make a dent....sigh...
