Emprie State Building
All right, went to NYC and didn't even take photos - how awful (well I did, but not many at all, like 8). Part of it was because I was paranoid it was going to rain at any moment and the other part was I was really into NOT carrying anything anywhere. Normally I carry a book bag w/me w/a bunch of stuff in it, but it was nice to just be able to walk around w/a phone and wallet and that's it!
Anyways, this is my 2nd night in NYC.
Thursday (yesterday) I did this:
Went to 5th Avenue to Fao Schwarz toy store (from the movie Big? and home alone2), the apple store (looks cool from the outside, don't bother going in), saw "the plaza" and a woman getting married in June (have you seen Bride Wars?). Went to Times Square (barf), ate at Nobu (not bad, but wasn't amazing). On the way there Kristy texted me that Michael Jackson died, I forgot to tell Chiara until after the dinner - oops!
Friday (today):
Got a NY slice of pizza at a hole-in-the-wall place
Went to the diner that Seinfeld's diner was based on and had a tasty pistachio milk shake & cheese fries. Ate cheesecake at a yelp favorite, went to where John Lennon was shot (near my hotel), and ate at Peter Luger's steakhouse in brooklyn (really good cheesecake here).
Ended the evening by going to the Empire State Building. It's $20 a person to go to the top, but well worth it. Spent about 40 minutes up here and could have stayed a lot longer but they were closing. My poor photography skills do not do the view justice at all.
Construction to a bird.
