HOW VERY SILLY - ON FUNNY FRIDAY

Hello Lovely Blippers,

Today is being renamed as “Funny Friday” because we won’t be with you tomorrow.  

Let me tell you what happened today - Mr. HCB went off to cricket and then a friend of theirs from Church messaged to ask if Mrs. HCB was “home alone”.  She responded and said after her sister had visited this morning she was all alone, so if she and her son, Z. wanted to pop round, they would be most welcome.

Just to show you what an amazing brain this 4 year old has, as soon as he came in, he wanted to go into the garden to find the hedgehog - which you can see in the top right of this collage.  He remembered it from last year when he had a great time playing with the hedgehog.  Z. also remembered Hoggy from last year and was pleased to meet Spikey, who has fitted in with the Gang very well.

Z. then said he would like to “wash the marbles”, just as he had done last year so Mrs. HCB provided him with some warm water with some Fairy Liquid, a sponge, another bowl to put the marbles in when they were clean and you can see his is having a grand time washing them, but that wasn’t quite enough, he then wanted to dry them and after that he rolled them around on the grass. In case you wonder what the marbles are for, the HCBs put water in the pot and bees and butterflies can drink the water without falling in - clever eh?

Then it was time for Z. to have a wander around indoors - and Mrs. HCB was happy to let him do that.  He took a shine to Leighton, so carried him around, mainly by his ears.  Going into the kitchen he found a doorstop made for the HCBs almost 50 years ago by their Italian next door neighbour.   Z. immediately said it looked like a Power Ranger, but added that they didn’t have a shield, but did have a sword - how do these children know so much?  We can hardly remember what we had for breakfast this morning and I don’t think Mrs. HCB was aware of that.

Having had a snack - and we were a bit miffed that we didn’t get anything - Z. took a shine to David the Dragon and was happy to have his photograph taken as you can see.  Not one to miss a trick, Mrs HCB thought that she could make this Funny Friday and asked Z.’s Mum if it was OK to have Z. in the photograph;  she said that was fine, so here we all are together.

David the Dragon was obviously enjoying Z's company and when Mrs. HCB was asked if David could go home with him, she said only if he would look after David well, which he agreed to do.

Z’s Mum took the extra photographs and you can see Mrs. HCB is enjoying showing Z. some YouTube videos of the noises that Fire Engines, Ambulances and Police Cars make.  They were very noisy!  You can also see David the Dragon just before he left with them.

All in all a lovely afternoon, if we are honest, a little too noisy for us, but Z. enjoyed it and Mrs. HCB did too.

Now we are going to have a rest for the weekend - hope you all have a super one - and a great Silly Saturday - we have enjoyed Funny Friday and we hope Mr. HCB has enjoyed cricket.

We did tell Z, when he was swinging Leighton around, that he should BE KIND, as this is what Mrs. HCB asks us to remind you about every week.
