heading home in the rain -- crossing the Brooklyn Bridge in a taxi after seeing the orthopedic surgeon.

good news is that i won't need a plaster cast -- just a 'boot' - for six weeks. which means that we will be able to travel to japan later this summer! meanwhile, i am hobbling around but relieved that the summer won't be completely ruined.
