Raised beds

W has been really busy over the last few days, now we finally have some dry weather - albeit sometimes with a chilly wind.  He's dug up the bed at the corner, and used inverted sods in the bottom of the raised beds - a way of using them up, and reducing the amount of top soil they require to fill them.

A trip to the garden centre this weekend to buy some evergreen shrubs, then we already bought lots summer bulbs when they were in Aldi - may be a bit late for a good showing this year, but we'll probably also scatter some wild flower seeds.

3 raised beds are done, the fourth one at the far end will need sods from a path he's digging out.  Hopefully finished later today, depending on whether the rain holds off.  W is sad that he didn't manage to plant any veg seeds this year - but we'll get seedlings from the garden centre.

W has the wood to construct three more raised beds - there's plenty of space between the existing four - a project for later in year, when he has "nothing better to do"!!!
