I remember

This ornament used to be on my mum's shelf.

As far back as I can remember, it sat on the shelf. I often asked her why she liked it. Because my sisters and I bought it for her as a birthday present was the reason. We were young - 8, 7, 6 and 4 at the time and apparently we thought if we bought it for her, it meant we would get a puppy.

We did have dogs in the house when I was growing up but I don't think it was as a direct result of buying that ornament!

It always amazed me that my mum kept that ornament for over 36 years. I have it now sitting on my shelf and I am sure my mum would smile every time I dust it.
