Softball Pyjamas
I finished Betsy's pyjamas this afternoon.
It is about 10 years since I saw Betsy in this much pink, but the fabric only came in pink and brown, and the fact that it is printed with cleats, bats, gloves, helmets, pads, pennants and the word 'softball' meant that the hated pink could be tolerated just this once.
We got Betsy's official confirmation that she's playing for Team GB today. She was confirmed as part of the training squad a few weeks ago, but the place in the team isn't final until its final. There are always new players coming through so they have to keep earning their place in the team, so they can never be sure till they send the email. It came through late last night so we told her this morning. She was really thrilled. So we'll be back to Colleccio again this August.
Al's last day of the year at EH. I can't believe how far he's come. Saw two parents and their boy going in for a chat with Jane today, a little blonde haired blue eyed boy, like Al, all three looking nervous, just like us a year ago. I can't imagine where we would be without them. I bought Jane a huge bouquet of flowers and wrote what I hope was a very lovely card. The only reason I refrained from sending an absolute gushing love letter to her and her staff was because he is going back next year and I need to have somewhere to go on the actual day he leaves. I don't want to think about that I day. I think I will break down in floods!
