Seniors Outing

Well, I am a week behind already but I will plod along and try to get better. We got the bus in the village at 5,30 am with freezing temperatures. We drove to the parliament building in Vienna for a tour. It was closed for a long time for renovations but it opened again last year, I think. Actually, I think it was more refurbishment as the original grandiose decor with its chandeliers and marble columns are still there. The last renovation was in the fifties and that decor is also intact. The afternoon activity was to the imperial Treasury with an mpressive display of garments several hundred years old looking brand new. Heavy gold jewelry and crowns covered in jewels were much more impressive than what we saw at the Crown Jewels in London last year.
