The Super Pit

We visited the Super Pit today. I have been there a few times now and also done a tour into the Super Pit which is most interesting. It is always changing as they dig for the the gold. Here is a bit of information about the Pit itself.
The Super Pit One of Australia’s largest open pit gold mines. Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines (KCGM) Operation is a world class asset located adjacent to the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder approximately 600 kilometres east of Perth, Western Australia.

KCGM Operations include the Fimiston Open Pit (Super Pit), Mt Charlotte Underground Mine and the Fimiston and Gidji Processing Plants.
The Golden Mile at the centre of the Kalgoorlie Goldfield, is one of the richest gold deposits in the world, producing more than 60 million ounces of gold.
