A bit more culture
I was travelling again today, so here's another blip from yesterday's visit to London. This is an exhibition of the work of Jason Wilsher-Mill at the Wellcome Collection near Euston Station - not an artist I'd heard of, but the gallery is free. His artwork refers to the time he spent in hospital in Wakefield with an auto-immune condition that paralysed him from the neck down from the age of 11 to 16 (1980-85). Rather than seeing it as a time of trauma and loss, he sees it as the awakening of his creative life as an artist. It's a bright and colourful exhibition, very moving but up-lifting, as art should be.
