NothingGetsLost

CVC day 2.
Different set of workshops for folks today bases around Safety and Rescue skills with folks heading out in kayaks, canoes, SUPs to the rivers, lochs, and sea.
Days like these are always a juggle. Balancing peoples skill (actual and perceived!), expectations and egos against risk, conditions, reward and time.

It was hard work today but I think we got it right. Group went away happy but certainly stretched and aware of the things they should practise more.
And it was a great learning day for F as a first look at safety and rescue delivery.
Lush to have tea put on for us all once guests had gone and tidying up was done.

Noticing a very subtle shift. The imposter syndrome is real, ever present and disruptive. But I never ever would of imagined that id be casually sitting round the table comparing days, laughing, making plans, chatting as paddlers, as peers like this. I wouldn't even of aspired to it. Because why would you? That's not what people like me do. But for an hour or so today, it felt comfortable.  Like maybe I do belong in this space.  Little glimmers to hang on to.
