The last half day before coming home. It's been a great week.

This morning I squeezed in part of a guided tour of the beautiful gardens. So many facts. The hotel grounds have got 500 different plant species (I think that's what he said). 60% of the plants come from Madagascar. There is an acute overproduction of bananas in the Canaries. And so on.

Our enthusiastic guide was wearing some kind of Amazonian indian outfit. Or maybe it was an authentic kit from long ago Canary islands. Not sure where the bowler hat came from. I need to go back next year to find out.
