Bar tailed Godwits at Minsmere
Had a good day with my bird friends out on the Suffolk coast yesterday at Minsmere RSPB reserve. The sun shone and the wind was chill but l was wrapped up warm. Saw quite a few different bird types which people were always happy to name for me - the dainty Avocet, dashing black headed gulls, various ducks and on our last stop before heading back to the bus a Bittern which is a great rarity. The main photo and extra are bar tailed Godwits. These birds have been known to migrate from Siberia all the way to Tasmania and New Zealand non stop.
