It takes a minute. Then your mind flips and it makes sense. This is artist Richard Wilson's seminal work 20:50 at the Saatchi Gallery. The amazing thing is that the reflections and depth of reality you are seeing here is actually a room filled with pure black crude oil. The faint smell is the giveaway. It reminded me of the engine room of The Waverley paddle steamer that we used to take on cruises down The Clyde when we were kids - and which I know some friends up in Glasgow still enjoy.
