Gaol

In Lichfield to see a friend and as I walked around beforehand I saw a sign outside the Guildhall saying that the gaols were open and free to visit. So I popped in. Interesting little exhibition and some very small cells. People were burnt at the stake nearby - some rather nasty tales to read. Women didn’t fare well during the 17th century in witchcraft trials.
