Dalswinton
IA lovely walk this morning up onto the moors above Dalswinton, over 7 miles including the summit of Ward Law. This is the loch and folly in the grounds of Dalswinton House, a popular place for local walkers to visit and also as a wedding venue. The far end of the loch is off limits just now as the ground around it is so wet. I saw a swan nesting on the island in the middle of the water. I might have said it before, but this was here that the the first steam-powered boat in Britain sailed in 1788.
I had another walk this afternoon, this time behind a lawnmower. Another 3 miles! I had to leave some of the grass as it was so wet..
