Evershot, Dorset
We've come away for the weekend to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary which was last Wednesday. We're staying in The Acorn Inn which Thomas Hardy called The Acorn and Sow in his book 'Tess of the d'Urbevilles'. You can just see the pub with the white pillars halfway down the street. Dorset is looking beautiful in spring sunshine with ,fresh green leaves, bluebells and baby lambs at every turn. Tomorrow we'll head south to the coast for some sea air.
We stopped in Cerne Abbas for a delicious lunch and walked up to the top of the village to get a view of the Cerne Abbas Giant (in extras).
