1871: Ku Klux Act passes Congress
Quote Of The Day
"I will not hesitate to exhaust the powers thus vested in the Executive, whenever and wherever it shall become necessary to do so for securing to all citizens of the United States the peaceful enjoyment of the rights guaranteed to them by the Constitution and laws."
(President Ulysses S. Grant)
Another wonderful School Bazaar is over. My first time working on a food stall. Put a piscetarian on the Korean barbecue; good idea, he won't pinch any of what he cooks. My daughter, V, came along to help out. We started barbecuing at 10am until we ran out of meat just after 2pm. The parent volunteers told V and I to go and enjoy the bazaar after that, so we did just that, at least until the big clean up started at 3pm. By 5pm, everything was back to normal.
It's really wonderful to be a part of this fantastic international community, where everybody volunteers so much of their time, money and effort towards keeping our school the marvelous, friendly place that it is. People can be truly wonderful sometimes.
