2024 Friday — Digging It

Tuesday afternoon across the way and down the embankment from our narrow street, the earthmovers started their engines about 3:00. The land had been previously painted with green lines, like a game of hopscotch was about to begin. Once the oil in the engines was warm, the ditch digging started.

The engines were silenced a couple hours later; the future was appearing in the dirt.

For two days they scooped dirt and created ditches. Today a map of the future written in construction language is on that land.
