Magnolia blossoms

I was tired and snuffly this morning but decided to go for a short walk to get some fresh air and see if the magnolia tree down Xwaaqw'um was blooming. It didn't disappoint!  I've added an extra of the expanse of the blossoms. So beautiful! I did feel better after getting some sea air and exercise.
We went to the Celebration of Life of one of G's golf buddies this afternoon.  What an accomplished man he was: a pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force (earned his wings when he was 18), a pilot for Canadian Airlines, the official photographer for the Canadian Forces iconic Snowbirds, a superb photographer and artist, and a really nice guy. Some more info about him and some of his art here. Both Gallery 8 and Auntie Pesto's Restaurant on the island feature some of his art. He also had shows in galleries on the mainland.
