Sunrise at the Farm
We were awake by 5:00 but didn’t get up until the alarm went off at 6:00. I got outside just as the sun peeked through the trees. What a sight. We packed the car and I completed the last minute cleaning jobs. After a quick bite, we left around 7:45. Jamie, Lauren and Abi left Maryland a little earlier. Jamie knew he couldn’t get to the Morgantown hospital before his Dad’s 7:00 am surgery but hoped he’d be there when he got back to his room. And he was. They did not get biopsy results but the doctors are starting radiation right away. At least he survived surgery. The family (and the patient) wasn’t confident he would. Jamie and his daughters stayed for a few hours and headed back home. Our trip has been fine so far. We made only two quick stops and will be home by 4:00. Our event is at 6:00. Parker’s next lacrosse game is tonight. Jamie hopes to be back by then. Our BIL’s truck is fixed. It was a shame they didn’t find out before Jamie left WV. Someone could have driven it back to Maryland. Kristen’s SUV has the same problem; she was also told it could take months to get the repair parts. She researched the problem. Turns out, several Ford vehicles have used the same transmission since 2017 and failure is not uncommon. There are even class action lawsuits in progress. Kristen cannot be without a vehicle for months. Her SUV is still under warranty but the company has said too bad, so sad. Nothing we can do. This story is to be continued. Sure hope I can stay awake during the speeches at the banquet. I bet we’ll sleep well tonight. Have a wonderful weekend and stay safe. Thanks for stopping by. I read a few journals but kept dozing off. "At sunrise, the blue sky paints herself with gold colors and joyfully dances to the music of a morning breeze." - Debasish Mridha
