Modern Tromsø …

… is changing very rapidly. I could hardly recognise the harbour area from 10 years ago. The 1 km long Tromsø bridge (extra) joins the island to the mainland where the dramatic Arctic Cathedral is situated. I certainly didn’t remember cruise ships docking just outside the harbour area. It was fascinating to see the old painting from 1904 (second extra) taken more or less from the same place as the main! 

Whilst waiting for our baggage to arrive, and it all has now, we went shopping. Can you believe I bought a summer dress for our granddaughter’s wedding in August in freezing Tromsø? As soon as I looked in the shop window I knew it had my name on! To complete a day of unusual activities I spent an hour in the hotel jacuzzi and sauna and did some yoga in the gym before visiting the Full Steam Museum. About to go down for dinner with Francoise and Charlotte.
